Phil is here from his new startup, Independent Identity. IndependentId is providing consulting services and working on a new community project, a cloud-native, apache licensed SCIM server called i2scim.io. Phil has been working in identity and security since 1996, where he began as a customer for a G1000 company. He followed that up with startups in business networking and virtual directory services that was acquired by Oracle. While at Oracle, Phil participated in many standards groups including OpenID, OAuth2 and SCIM where he was the editor of the SCIM Protocol and Schema specifications among others.

In this episode, Dr. Daniel Fett, expert cryptographer, returns to the show to discuss the landscape of privacy-preserving measures (such as selective disclosure, zero-knowledge proofs or ZKP, etc.) that are emerging to augment existing technologies and enable new scenarios. The discussion gets very concrete when Daniel describes selective disclosure JWT, or SD-JWT, a new IETF specification he is coauthoring that offers a simple and easy-to-adopt approach to produce JWTs capable of supporting selective disclosure.
